2008
Lights on daily from 5pm until 12am
Join us for the silver anniversary of the Winter Festival of Lights and enjoy
Canada's largest lights festival at the world's most famous address - Niagara
Falls - as we illuminate the nights from November 3rd, 2007 to January 7th,
2008.Everyone will enjoy spectacular fireworks over the Falls every Friday night
at 9:00 pm.
The Winter Festival of Lights in Niagara Falls, Ontario includes over 125
animated lighting displays and 3 million tree and ground lights which can be
seen within the Niagara Parks Winter Wonderland, including the world-famous
Enchantment of Disney® displays and the world's largest illuminated
Canadian-American Flag.
The principle lighting area for the Winter Festival of Lights is known as the
Niagara Parks Winter Wonderland, a beautifully decorated five-kilometre route
stretching from the base of Clifton Hill along the Niagara Parkway, adjacent to
the mighty Niagara Falls.
Each night at 5:00 p.m. the Festival’s lights ignite while the mighty Niagara
Falls is illuminated into a fabulous winter wonderland of colour and beauty.
There is no admission fee to view the illuminations but donations are gratefully
accepted (suggested contribution $10 per car), with proceeds used to enhance the
lights and displays.
Niagara Falls New Years Party! - December 31st 2007Fireworks
9 PM and midnight; Televised coverage 11 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. on CanWest Global
and affiliate stations. Location: Queen Victoria Park
Get ready to ring in the New Year at Canada's largest New Year's Eve Party!
The countdown to 2008 has already begun and we want you to celebrate in Niagara
Falls!
The Party in Niagara event annually features an outdoor licensed area, food and
beverage vendors, and spectacular fireworks over the falls to ring in the New
Year, along with world-class musical entertainment.
Join the expected crowd of 30,000 people as we celebrate in hardy Canadian
fashion - with an outdoor concert - held in Queen Victoria Park, along the
Niagara Parkway, with the spectacular Niagara Falls as its backdrop. As well,
there are two spectacular fireworks displays that take place at 9:00 pm and
midnight. The New Year's Eve Party in Niagara will be broadcast from 11:00 pm to
12:30 am on CanWest Global and affiliate stations. As always, the presence of
security and policing will be on-site to ensure people’s safety throughout the
night.
The concert is free and located in Queen Victoria Park right across from the
Falls at the corner of the Niagara Parkway and Murray Street.
It is an outdoor concert so you should dress appropriately (remember it is
always a few degrees cooler at the Falls). As mentioned previously, it will be a
licensed event so you can purchase a variety of alcoholic beverages both hot and
cold in this area.
Parking is available at the Falls Parking lot just south of Queen Victoria Park
along the Niagara Parkway or you can park in one of the number of city lots at
the top of Murray Street or along Stanley Avenue.
